"These fun, interior design games let you be the decorator."

Playing interior design games is a great way to build your sense of style without needing to worry about meeting real budgets or making costly mistakes. It’s all about having fun!

Have you ever wanted to experiment with mixing traditional and contemporary décor but haven’t had the courage to do it in your own home? Or maybe you’ve been intrigued by the ultra modern look but would rather get your feet wet in a virtual world instead of a real one. A game is the perfect solution.

So, what options are out there? To be honest I haven't come across many, but there are some that I think are worth checking out.

For a pre-teen, an interior decorating game to consider is Imagine Interior Designer DS. The graphics are whimsical and colorful, and the user gets to test her decorating skills on various design projects that are presented.

For a more advanced approach that is geared more towards teens and adults try The Sims 2 Deluxe. You get to manage the lives of virtual people in one of the most popular games ever created. You can enhance your Sims 2 game with expansion packs like Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff or IKEA Home Stuff to really test your interior design prowess. Will the Sims be impressed when you change the color scheme, furniture and accessories? Play around with the look of each room; change the mood. You’re the designer and in control.

Perhaps the best thing about a decorating game is what you learn as you experiment. Instead of relying on your imagination alone, you can see the results of your ideas before your very eyes!
