"The best way to design a new kitchen."

Are you looking to design a new kitchen? It can feel like a huge project. There are so many variables. You may be wondering...

Design a new kitchen

• What is the best layout for my space?

• What kind of counter top do I want?

• What style of cabinetry will look best?

• How do I find a reliable contractor to do the work?

• What is all this going to cost me?

Wondering about the cost of the project is no small matter. A kitchen redesign can be quite an investment of your hard earned money. And if you’re like me, you don’t take that lightly. I like to know that I’ve made educated choices that have resulted in the best outcome for the money I’ve spent. It helps me sleep better at night.

Knowing what to expect when you design a new kitchen can go a long way to helping you get the results you want while avoiding costly mistakes due to lack of information.

Before you do anything, I recommend investing a few dollars in a good book on the subject of kitchen design. Someone who has “been there and done that” can really help make your experience much smoother and more cost effective than it would otherwise have been. It is money well spent.

A really good resource I recommend is an e-book called Designing Successful Kitchens. It provides the big picture as well as important details and tips to make your kitchen design experience the best it can be.

I liked how it was written in easy-to-understand language with supporting diagrams and pictures. For example, the author illustrates the five most common kitchen layouts used today. Based on that, I was easily able to determine the kitchen layout that was best for my home.

The writer also includes tips on avoiding a cheap looking result. One of these details involves the shape of the counter top edge – something of which I was not previously aware. Details like that are important to me because when I can save money and also have something that functions well and looks great, I’m happy!

There is no doubt small details can make a huge difference in a plan, and it is good to know before you spend hard earned money to design and build a new kitchen.

Designing Successful Kitchens is the perfect resource for anybody wanting to design and plan their own kitchen layout. It even steps you through how to get a good kitchen contractor who will finish the job to your satisfaction. It's all in there from concept to completion.
