My Story

Welcome fellow interior design enthusiast! Or should I say “friend”? After all, it’s clear we share an interest in home improvement and design, and in my view that’s enough to begin building a friendship.

Hi! I’m Scott. My interest in interior design has been strongly influenced by my work experiences and personal, home renovation projects.

Financial Freedom

I discovered my interest in design some years ago when I landed a job as a sales consultant in a decorating center. For two years I worked alongside professionals in the home improvement and decorating fields, learning and experiencing the “ins” and “outs” of achieving beautiful interior spaces.

Just as important, though, were the home renovation experiences that provided me with the opportunity to plan and coordinate my own interior environment. It was my chance to put into practice the knowledge I had gained through helping others reach their home improvement goals. It was all very satisfying!

I was inspired enough to enroll in some great interior design courses with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online to further refine my understanding of design principles.

It's my opinion that the best way to learn something new is through experimentation and trial and error. This is true with interior design as well. Even if things don’t work out quite perfectly the first time, the lesson learned to get it right is what is vital because it sticks with you for life. The person who said “practice make perfect” was definitely onto something.

Of course, anytime you can get strategic tips and guidance before you dive headfirst into a large home project is invaluable. That’s part of the reason I created this website.

Since I know very little about complicated HTML code and Search Engine Optimization I was lucky to discover Site Build It (SBI). I found SBI to be the complete and powerful web design system that I needed to create an effective website at my own pace (and, by the way, it’s a great way to build a business from home )! Choosing SBI was an important decision that I definitely don't regret.

I hope you find my website inspirational to your success in becoming your own interior designer. Thank you for visiting Interior-Design-Tutor.net.
