My Story
When I think about, I must have always had an interest in design. Looking back I remember the kind of sketching I often did as a kid. I would draw my dream house - a federal style mansion with big columns at the front entrance and lots of architectural symmetry…very stately! There is just something wonderfully inspiring about perfect balance and order. (Or maybe it just appeals to my perfectionist tendencies.) Hello! My name is Scott. There were times as I was growing up that I would evaluate the layout of furniture in our family home, wondering how switching the orientation and location of pieces would change the look of the room. I was allowed to try out my ideas on occasion. Sometimes they worked. Other times…well, let’s just say Mom wasn’t impressed. By the time I headed to college, my thoughts were turning in other directions. A design related field wasn’t on my career agenda. I was actually struggling with what I really wanted to do in life. Thankfully as time passed I acquired some experience that made me realize creative design is really what excites me! One of those insightful periods occurred while I was employed in a home improvement center. I gained first hand knowledge of various interior elements and a deeper understanding of paint and color (by the way, operating those paint tint dispensers really is as cool as it looks!). The two years I spent in that position provided a valuable reference point for events that would happen later in my life. When my parents asked me to help them redesign the interior elements of a house they had recently purchased, I jumped at the chance to take advantage of my acquired knowledge and leave my own creative mark. I was given a great degree of latitude and was able to help coordinate much of the project. As the elements came together, the feeling of satisfaction was tremendous! (Plus it’s always more fun when someone else is paying the bill, right?) I wanted to do more after the house renovation. So I took advantage of the excitement I was experiencing and enrolled in an online interior design school. That was a great experience! But there were some clouds on my financial horizon - ominous ones. I was building up debt, and it concerned me. I knew if I could become financially free it would really allow me to develop my passion in a more responsible, stress-free way. So, I began to search for a solution. Nothing I came across seemed quite right. Let me tell you, there are so many pie-in-the-sky “opportunities” out there. I’ve fallen for some in my life and luckily have had the good sense to avoid others. I really needed a plan that worked, not another get-rich-quick scheme! Then I found it! At first I didn't realize how good the find was.
Site Build It!
claimed to be the all-in-one solution for creating, hosting and marketing a profitable website around a hobby or topic of interest. I was skeptical of course. Who wouldn’t be? I had been burned before. After some research, though, I decided I didn't have much to lose. So I gave it a try. Am I ever glad I did! SBI has made it possible for me to share my interest in interior design while at the same time build an exciting, second stream of income. Does it get much better than that? I mean…sharing your passion with the world and getting paid to do it? It’s a match made in heaven! One of the things I love most about Site Build It! is its easy-to-use, block-by-block, step-by-step format. From the start that was a huge relief to me because (I have to share a deep, dark secret)... I knew virtually nothing about designing a web page and submitting it to search engines. I knew even less about internet marketing. SBI made it all a snap from one location! As time goes by I realize more and more that finding Site Build It! came at the perfect time in my life.
SBI was exactly the opportunity I was searching for.
It has given me a step-by-step road map to share my personal hobby while I simultaneously achieve financial freedom. I love it!
